How to scan Freesat channels

Hiya,

I have a DVB-S card in my mythtv setup alongside some DVB-T cards. I've
noticed that when trying to scan a specific transport on a Freesat dish, say
the BBC HD Transport, myth-setup seems to carry on and scan the whole
satellite. I'm sure it didn't used to be this way, and seems to be
something that's changed in 0.22-fixes at some point? Given the huge number
of channels on Freesat I didn't want to look at the hundreds of channels it
would find and limit scans to a few transports and just delete a few of the
extra channels it would find alongside the one I actually wanted.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour - or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers,
Steve.

What worked for me was doing a scan from the commandline and then trim the
output to contain only the channels I wanted to add. That file can then be
used from mythtv-setup rather than using the built in scanner.

Jelte

Thanks. That actually sounds like a better way to do it as I can scan the
whole satellite and then trim out the guff, leaving in the channels I
actually want. I'll give it a try..

Cheers,
Steve.
