genaral video metadata, and jamu or fill_mythvideo_metadata.pl

Hi,

I've been trying to use jamu to populate my videos with metadata. So far, the database seems to be populated with the coverart and banners without pathnames, so the artwork doesn't display. Not sure which setting I've got wrong in the conf file, but all the paths for coverart, banners etc are configured, and I have the setting enabled to allow db updates. Have also tried both with and without reading the paths from the db. I have to go in manually to change the pathnames or hack the db.

I'm also having some trouble with TV series (Not Jamu related), after changing the filenames to the standard 'Title - 01x01 - Subtitle', and fetching the metadata from the metadata options - fetch tv series tool, the video displays the title only in the folder overview, so I get for example 22 videos entitled "Seinfeld", selecting one does five me the episode number, but I have to enter the info screen to see the subtitle. Is there any way of changing this behaviour so that the subtitle is diplayed if it exists?

I was also wondering if anyone uses fill_mythvideo_metadata.pl, and how it performs compared to jamu.

Cheers!

Marius

Marius,
I am only replying to the Jamu part of your email. Jamu will
populate the image fields in the videometadata records only with the
image's filename when you use Storage Groups for your image directories.
MythVideo uses the storage group directory for the image type and
combines it with what is in the videometadata record to get an absolute
image file path.

At least on the surface this sounds like it may be a configuration issue
of storage groups and FE video and image settings. A way to check this
is to use MythVideo to update the metadata (use the "w" key). If
MythVideo does display the downloaded graphics then see what it has in
the database image fields. If you reply to this email please add which
version of Jamu you are using *./jamu -v".

FYI: Mixing Storage Groups with identical paths in your front end video
settings will lead to duplicates in MythVideo.

Doug

I thought that this had been fixed, so that now the storage group will
just take priority if the same folder is used in the frontend and
video storage group.

Jamu will give you a warning (as of the commit today) but it prioritizes
storage groups when there is a Videos storage group. I cannot speak for
MythVideo.

Thanks, all for your answers to this. I had mised SG's and F.E. paths for my artwork folders, casuing the filenames only to be stored, but with the F.E. looking for the complete paths.

Still no good solution to the Title/Subtitle problem tho, apart from manual edits.

Cheers!
