VDPAU and auto-fill together?

Does the new auto-fill feature work with VDPAU? One of my main
motivators for upgrading to 0.22 was to have what would be "letterbox"
4:3 content zommed up to fill the screen on my 16:9 screen -- known as
the auto-fill feature.

But when I enabled VDPAU on my GeForce 8400 GS machine, the auto-fill
would just not happen. Although the detection on letterbox content
seems to be a bit hit and miss.

While on the topic of VDPAU, how can one be sure it's actually being
used? Will mythfrontend emit something on it's stdout when it is being
used?

How does one choose VDPAU features, such as which de-interlacer to use?

Cheers,
b.

No. Auto-fill only works with software decoding methods. Patched welcome!

Yes. Moreso when using -v playback, but even standard verbosity will
mention using VDPAU.

Ouija board. Or just choose the one that looks best to you while not
exceeding your card's capabilities and causing stuttering. Lots of
people swayed by what they are *told* is the best looking, precious
few choosing based on what they like. :)

Damn. The two most compelling reasons (for me) to upgrade are mutually
exclusive. :-(

I guess I don't know zilch about VDPAU. Is it being given the MPEG2
stream directly to decode? I thought it was just "assisting".

OK. Good to know.

Ahhh. I guess choose was the wrong word. How do I acutally select one?
Where in the settings does one tweak VDPAU options?

VDPAU is both a decoder and a renderer. The reduction in CPU use
mostly comes from having the device decode the stream, so yes, you
hand the driver the stream directly.

In Playback profiles, in TV Playback settings.
