Wiki

I'm planning to build my first myth system.

I was looking around the wiki, grumbling to myself about
the lack of an index by motherboard form factor. Instead
of complaining to the list, I started working on the wiki,
creating subcategories of Category:Motherboard
and MediWiki built the indexes.

See: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Category:Motherboard

While I was at I created and index by the cpu socket.
I must have been confused, because now that index
seems pretty useless to me. What indexes would
you want in the wiki?

I also did some work on the motherboard specifications in the wiki.
I worked on making the specification presented in the wiki
more consistent. There is still a long way to go. I did not
remove any information. I make some corrections using
information from the specification from the manufacturer's
web page. I added information missing from some of the
wiki pages. I was more thorough on page I was interested in,
and got less thorough as I got tired towards the end.

What information would you want to see in the wiki page
for each motherboard?

I'd like to see a table of components (VGA, onboard sounds, etc., etc.) that
are known to work with Linux (and of course MythTV) and perhaps links to the
drivers or kernel versions they are included in. Maybe this information is
elsewhere (Linux hardware database?) but I think those would be the useful
pieces of information. Nothing is worse than buying a "7.1 sound card"
motherboard to find that it doesn't work in Linux.

Chipsets can be dealbreakers too. I have two motherboards that work *just
perfect* in Windows (which I don't use), but the chipsets are pathetic in Linux.
