no hdhr after reboot

after googling around, ive found that after a reboot mythbackend
sometimes doesnt recognize an hdhr (unavailable). if i restart
mythbackend all is fine. now obviously this a pain in the $#&, so how
do others deal with this problem? does mythbackend only check once on
startup for tuners? is there a setting or checkbox im missing to have
it check more often?

thanks

steve

Are you using NetworkManager? If so, the network interface likely
isn't coming up until you're logged into X, which is well after
mythbackend has already started. If this is the problem, all you need
to do is get networking to start earlier. Put an entry in
/etc/network/interfaces if you're using debian/ubuntu or
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts for fedora.
