Signal-to-noise ratio

I am having trouble with my DVICO HDTV5 Lite card, and I believe it is
related to the signal-to-noise ratio. Question: should I hope for
higher or lower values of SNR?

Some output from azap:

76-1: status 1f | signal f4d4 | snr 1ee0 | ber 00000000 | unc 0000ffff |
FE_HAS_LOCK
105-1: status 1f | signal f69a | snr 21ab | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000
| FE_HAS_LOCK
106-1: status 1f | signal f4a0 | snr 2175 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000
| FE_HAS_LOCK
108-1: status 1f | signal f58c | snr 2192 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000
| FE_HAS_LOCK

As you can see, SNR is very low and the recordings are awful.

You want a high signal to noise ratio and very low bit error ratio and
uncorrected error values.

Check all cable connections, especially into the card if your
reception on other devices is satisfactory. The signal itself seems
strong, so possible causes of noise in the signal path should be
investigated.
