Steven Mulvay wrote: Hi all, Can anyone confirm or deny the compatibility of the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1300 Internal PCI Analogue/ Digital TV card with Linux and MythTV? Would Linux be able to use it's hardware MPEG -2 encoder for analogue TV? Is it's remote control compatible? Here is the card's web page: http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hvr1300.html"]http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hvr1300.html Computer info: Distro: Sidux (which is very closely based off Debian Sid) Mythtv version: 0.21 SVN Kernel: 2.6.25-9.slh.1-686-sidux (I haven't upgraded the kernel in ages, so there probably is a kernel upgrade available if need be) I have the afore mentioned TV card on back order with Ascent. Now that I know that Ascent does not always issue a full refund I thought I would ask you guys about the card, and if need be cancel my order before the card is shipped. Cheers, Steve :) _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users [at] mythtv http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users"]http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users Hmm I answered this (and another message) yesterday bu the post never appeared. So again... I used the HVR-1300 as an analog tuner a year or so ago with Mythdora 4 (Fedora 6?, Mythtv0.19) and more recently as a Digital tuner with Fedora 8 & mythtv 0.21 as well as Mythdora5, together with 2 PVR150s. Currently I've I removed the HVR1300 as I got poor reception for DVB-T and had to stay with analog. I plan to reinstall the card once I can get round to setting up an external antenna for the DVB-T. Be aware that you can only use it as a DVB-T _or_ Analog card, not both. I was a bit disappointed in that as under Windows I could use it for both. Perhaps in a future driver. John
