MythWeb gone minimalist after Palm TX browse

MythWeb was working fine for me until I attempted to browse to it using my
Palm TX. Since then I've only been able to see the following:
http://www.charlesmccolm.com/content/bad-mythweb-screen

This seems to come up regardless of what hardware platform, OS, or browser
used. MythWeb seems to have reverted to minimal html (stone age) settings.
Has anyone else had this happen?

Using MythDora 5.0 if that makes any difference.

Cheers,

Charles

This has been covered a lot. Append ?RESET_TMPL=true to the end of
your mythweb address.

http://<hostname>:<port><mythweb app path>/README

Or, if you'd rather make sure you can save you've never read the
README: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/316809#316809 .

Probably covered a lot because people give out the fish (RESET_TMPL)
rather than teaching to fish (README). ;)

Thanks guys, actually I did spend about an hour googling but came up with
pretty much every problem with MythWeb except this one.

Thanks for all the fish!

Perhaps if there was some way of knowing from mythweb that there is a
README there, like a link in the mythweb interface?

Or you could just check the wiki.

Frankly a web page doesn't normally need a README so I never thought to look.

Its not there on my mythbuntu mythweb.

Isn't this just a bug anyway? If it can detect the use of a mobile
device and switch to that minimal layout, then it should just switch
back when you're on a full featured browser again.

It's supposed to. There was a discussion about that here:
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/340260#340260

The code that determines whether or not the user agent is mobile is here:

http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/branches/release-0-21-fixes/mythplugins/mythweb/includes/skin.php

and

http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/branches/release-0-21-fixes/mythplugins/mythweb/includes/mobile.php

You mean web /application/?

Just like any other good application, a web application should have a
README to answer questions users may have when things don't work as
expected. ;)

> Its not there on my mythbuntu mythweb.

Then the MythBuntu packagers are probably moving it to some doc
directory somewhere.

I know some packagers had problems with allowing access to the README
because of "security" concerns, so you'll have to learn how your distro
configures things. Regardless, the MythWeb README should be installed
on any system that has MythWeb.
