I'm willing to bet that you have a bad capacitor or 2 on that board. I
have gone thru 2 of these things so far. The first one I chucked when
it failed because I didn't know what was wrong until after the fact
and the second one I'm using now has blown every single capacitor on
the board at one time or another over the past 2 years of its life. I
have re-soldered new ones in each time and the board continues to
work. I think it cost me around $12 for all the longer-life caps for
the board.

You can insert random amounts of swearing based on the fact I can't
solder. I'll drag it back out from under the Telly and start checking
the caps out. I thought VIA escaped the bad batch of electrolitics so
hadn't considered that.

If it is, expect a "Hey, I want to build a sweet frontend" type thread
appearing shortly :S

Just a follow up. Spotted two bulging caps on the PSU PCB and one that
had not only bulged but leaking on the board itself. *sigh* Damn thing.

If you're handy with a soldering iron it's a straight forward repair.
There's a forum somewhere which describes the process in detail and
has good sources for replacement caps. If not, I'm sure that you'll be
able to find someone willing to take it off your hands and repair it,
like me ;-)

In VIA's case its that they just use cheap capacitors. All of thier Mini-ITX
boards are known to use cheap caps, that will almost certianly fail within a
year or two of use.

Mine has been running pretty much 24/7 for 2-3 years, so excuse me
whilst I get on my knee's and say a little prayer to the big man
upstairs ;-)

Crap, crap, crap. I only went and jinxed it!!! Lots of instability
issues.. time for some problem shooting me thinks.

Darn, and I was hoping I was wrong :( Its been a couple years since I last
looked into it (after my mini-itx board decided to die).
