Graphics issue with Radeon 7000

Hi
I have a p4 2ghz/512mb mythtv backend and a p3800mhz/512mb/radeon 7000
frontend. its working fine when im connecting the frontend to a pc monitor.
but when i connect the tv to the frontend im just able to get the text and
startx fails. i downloaded the gatos stuff. can someone send me their
XF86config file and any help would be really appreciated.
