mytharchive and aspect ratio?

How does mytharchive determine the aspect ratio?
I'm trying to archive a series of shows, all 4:3,
and two of them are processed as 16:9, giving
the wrong aspect ratio on the DVD.
I suspect the reason being that the two recordings
are started a few seconds before the show starts,
and this section is in 16:9. I have excluded this
using a cutlist, but this doesn't change things.
Any way of forcing mytharchive to 4:3?
