ASUS M2NPV-VM end of production?

ASUS M2NPV-VM end of production?

The ASUS M2NPV-VM was a very popular htpc motherboard
and it is still listed on the ASUS site, but it is
becoming hard to find. For instance, neither newegg
nor mwave currently have it listed, except in the
former case as an "open box" special. It looks like
this mobo is being phased out. Has ASUS released a
specific replacement, or do they expect people to use
their 690G board instead?

M2N-VM SE
M2N-VM DH

Those are really close. DH has some kind of remote control included,
both have wlan integrated. But price is almost same than M2NPV

Then there is:

M2NBP-VM CSM

It is almost same board, but with quatro chip. Not bad price imo.

They are not old models, my wholesaler just got those two boards on
stock. Imo they are great to multimedia/htpc
- GF6100
- spdif
- dvi
- serial port
- firewire
- matx

Why are you building htpc with svideo? All modern displays can use vga,
dvi or hdmi

Our current TV is not "modern" in that way - it only
has composite, component, and antenna (coax) inputs.
We won't be replacing it any time soon, so any htpc I
build has to work with it.

I'm not trying to build an htpc without vga/dvi/hdmi
capabilities, no question we will need (one of) those
sooner or later, just not yet.

when I was looking for a mythtv mb, I also saw 2-3 from Biostar. Here is one:

good: S-Video, DVI, HDMI, VGA, 8ch sound .... partly bad: ATI/AMD graphics

and here is the one with nVidia graphics and hdmi port ... but no dvi,
but hdmi->dvi adapters can solve this:

$75 is a pretty good price for this.

What motherboards are people recommending these days for intel cpus?
