possibly tuner settings?

Well, I've made tons of headway to getting MythTV working!

Now, when I choose "Watch TV" the mythtv app actually comes to the
foreground instead of being hidden behind the mythfrontend...

However, when I run either xawtv or the mythtv app all I get is a blue (or
black) screen with static about an 1/8 of the way down the top of the
screen.

Firstly, I know that this capture card works, it worked under windows...

I highly suspect that I've got the wrong tuner settings... I'm using a ATI
Wonder VE. If anybody has this type of card, what tuner settings are you
using (aka what does your modules.conf look like...)

Also, for those of you who have working MythTV setups, what are you using
for capture and sound cards?

Thanks,
Tim Keller

It isn't tuned in. I get this when I fire up xawtv until I choose a
channel.

I haven't got one, but if you have a kernel source handy then there is some
documentation in that on the correct options for this module. Also do a
scan of the archives for this list it was discussed extensively recently.

I am experimenting with an RME Digi96/8 PAD audio card. I have a few
problems with recording at the moment, however, the sound quality is awesome
(comparable with my £2,000 CD player)

Just about anything should be OK. I hear that M-Audio do a £99 Revolution
card which is only slightly worse than the card above, and certainly blows
away an Audigy. Probably the drivers aren't as good as the Audigy 2
though...

Have you tried the OSS commercial drivers?
http://www.opensound.com/readme/README.Digi96.html

I have an M-Audio 2496 and use the OSS commercial drivers as they
provide the best support.

Sounds interesting. However, from that URL

"This version supports all RME Digi96 family members. Also the
ADAT mode is supported. However the analog input port of Digi96/8 PAD
is not supported yet."

Is that not a problem? I assume you use a second card for recording
(actually, isn't your card digital in/out only?)

Thanks for the tip
