Problem compiling mythmusic under RH8

Problem compiling mythmusic under RH8

Hi!!

I'm having some trouble compiling mythmusic under RH8. My system:

Dual celery500
RH8
gf4 mx440 running nvidia drivers under xfree 4.02

Compiler output:

/usr/bin/ld: warning: libGLcore.so.1, needed by /usr/lib/libGL.so.1, not
found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym12520'
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym12169'
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym06342'
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym16922'
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym12475'
[more errors like this]
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym11750'
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym12316'
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym12348'
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined reference to `__nvsym11337'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [mythmusic] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/mythmusic-0.8/mythmusic'

I don't have opengl support on (ran configure with no options).

Hmmm... seems like maybe your NVidia driver installation is fubar. Are
you using the NVida binary drivers for your video card? If so, which
version & did you install from source or rpm?

I am using the nvidia binaries. I installed the latest (using the nvidia
install script).

Add'l info: I've run ldconfig a number of times. Hasn't seemed to have
helped.

Which 'latest' nvidia binaries? New ones were released this week. I'm
using the 4191 driver. Do you have the file '/usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1' ? If
not, your nvidia installation is screwed up. Either that, or maybe there
was a problem if you installed the new nvidia drivers (43xx) on top of the
old ones without uninstalling the old ones... I haven't tried the 43xx
drivers yet, so I can't say.

Running ldconfig won't help you if the required library isn't on your
system. Basically, when you get a 'no such file' or 'file not found' kind
of error, the first thing to do is find out why you don't have the file! :-)

I would try uninstalling & reinstalling your nvidia drivers.

My original install was the default VESA drivers that ship with RH8.
