direct playing CD audio

(hi guys, this is my first post. Well done to the creators of MythTV
for a fine piece of software)

I've setup Myth and TV/DVD works fine. However I'm surprised that there
seems no way to directly play audio CDs. I can see that I have the
option of rippping the CD, then playing the media files, but that's not
what I want.

Am I missing something, or is this facility not provided for?

As an aside, is there any capacity to have disc insertions (CD or DVD)
automatically detected?

Re: direct playing CD audio [In reply to]

Hi,

you can play Audio CD's directly by going into MythMusic.
In the change playlist menu is a link to the insertet CD then , just
mark it and go back to the menu.
Now you the the tracks of the CD and can play it without ripping it first

regards
Alex

Or even better, in the settings enable "Autoplay CDs" - insert a CD, and
MythMusic will start and start playing the CD. No need to select something
in the playlist.
