Cheap LCD HD ready TV - UK

Anyone got any opinions on this piece of hardware?
<http://www.aria.co.uk/productinfocomm.asp?ID=20717&SpecialStatus=1>

I was thinking of getting it to replace my 28" widescreen CRT TV. I
currently use an FX5200 card to provide both VGA to an 800x600 7" 4:3
screen and the TV out to the CRT.

Anyone see any problems with changing over to the LCD?

Cheers,

Graeme Hilton

I only have a comment about buying cheap LCD since you would not get the
same picture quality. What I have seen is that you need up too high end
LCD to get same quality as similar CRT screen size which is much cheaper
compared too.
Of course if you want the flat screen because of the appearance or less
space consume then CRT can not compete.

There's also the real issue of never having a dark screen in a dark
room - the backlight bleed-through can be quite bad (the opposite of
plasma IIRC)- I'd always try and see the screen in action in different
lighting conditions (or at least try to get a neutral opinion) before
purchasing. Obviously some people will notice this more than others so
it may not be an issue (I see this on my 19" Acer LCD monitor too,
although it's used more in the day).

Also note it has not HD-Ready, doesn't contain a FreeView tuner, and
doesn't seem to have component video inputs, but saying that, it could
be a real bargain if it's going to be used solely via DVI.

I use a similar 32" LCD TV via VGA with Myth and love it. No more
modlines etc..... Just plugin and go. Fantastic.
