MythMusic interface issues

Using MythMusic, when I start playing a set of selected files, they will
start playing and sound just fine. However, the interface locks up, and
about every 45 seconds it'll quickly update itself (the slider bar will
jump from 0:00 to 0:45 or so). Also, when the interface is locked up,
all keyboard input is ignored until that split second when an update
occurs. So, over the course of a 5-minute track, it'll update the
interface and take user input only about 6 times.
Has anyone seen this behavior before?
