Overlapping shows on the same channel (Stargate on Sci-Fi)

I've noticed that the listings for "Stargate Atlantis" on the Sci Fi
Channel say that it starts a minute before the hour, but the previous
show lasts the full hour. This causes the shows to conflict.
Fortunately, they're doing a second showing of each show, so it's easy
to resolve, but it's still very weird.

Should there be some sanity-checking of the listings to prevent this
sort of thing?

Make sure you are not set to start/end 1 min early.
I record both shows and do not have a conflict.

I've noticed the same issue with these same two shows. I've got mine set
to record 5 mins on either end of a show (primarily due to Sci-Fi). When
I set both to record back to back, SG-1 cuts off just after the end of the
show. Atlantis seems to cut in just before the pre-title portion of the
episode. I would have suspected that having 2 tuners that it would have
used the other tuner and kept the 5 minute buffer on each end.

I thought it used to do this, but I guess I could be wrong.....

If you tell it to record 5mins on either end of a show, it does. Note,
though, that you tell it to do so /in the recording rule/, not in the
settings.
