patch /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit in fedora 5

I was installing a test install of fedora 5 using jarods fedora 4
guide...just to see what would happen..
When i got to the part about patching the rc.sysinit file. I couldnt, it
kept failing.
Do i need to still patch it under fedora 5.
Any running fedora 5 that would know?
