Okay, I've released Beta 3, which fixes this problem. Thanks for making me
aware of it.

The new version is available at: http://david.spurgeonwoods.com/tapeworm

Just as a suggestion

When I select a program from the top window, the info associated with
that show is displayed in the bottom section (however the information
in this box with program info is displayed and scrolled to the end
automatically, so for me to see the item description first few lines I
must scroll this dialog up) IS that normal behaviour?

Also is it possible to make the box with the programs and the box with
the description (have the line between them) used to extend/shrink
either box, so that I get description box bigger then it is and reduce
the program list etc.

Thanks

Nice work, David.

I have one suggestion. It looks like you're displaying chanid-1000 in
the "channel" column. That makes no sense on my system, especially for
tuners after the first one (where chanid's are in the 2000's). Could
you instead or also display either callsign or channum? Even better
would be the ability to choose which columns to display.

In version 2 I also noticed PM and AM times reversed from what was
listed in MythWeb. For instance, the program said 5:00PM in MythWeb but
5:00AM in TapeWorm.

I didn't think I was seeing things, but... you never know...

This is still evident in Beta 3.

My shows recorded @ 20:20pm (show 08:20am in the list).

Tried this version. Upgraded from beta1. Two things I see right away. The
configure dialog box will not come up. The other problem is unchanged from
b1. Windows recognizes the mpg files and plays them fine however the
transcoded nuv files are not recognized by windows and although they do play
its very jerky with frequent pauses. Any thoughts?

I think you will still need to dsmyth windows filters which are a
sourceforge project. I think you do anyways!

Nope. I can't get VideoLan to launch at all from within Python either.
(Well, it'll launch if I don't send any parameters, but adding the video
file name pretty much kills it.)

I'm in the process of putting together the sample code to demonstrate the
problem, which I will post to both VideoLan and Python communities to see if
anyone can help figure it out.

The configure dialog comes up fine for me. I wonder if there's something in
your data values that's causing it to fail -- a Unicode character in your
video path maybe? Look for a file called TapeWorm.exe.log, and let me know
what the error traceback in that file says.

As for *.nuv files, all TapeWorm does is spawn a process to load a media
player. It's the media player's job to play the video. I'm betting you get
the same behavior if you call up your media player and try to play a *.nuv
file without TapeWorm running. There's nothing I can do to fix that. The
solution might be to upgrade your network, or to avoid *.nuv files in favor
of *.mpg files that do work.

(I hypothesize that WinMyth uses *.nuv under the hood and that's why it
never worked for me, giving the same choppy video performance you describe.
That's why I wrote TapeWorm in the first place.)

Try uninstalling then installing again

I believe the old version's config file was creating problems (edcuated
guess only)
