nForce: Simultaneous digital/analog output

Is simulatenous digital and analog output possible with ALSA? Ideally this
would behave like most consumer DVD players--passing AC3 (or whatever)
through digital if present while decoding to PCM (if necessary) for analog.
The hardware is an nForce2 onboard using the stock ALSA driver.

And now for something completely different.
