barebones MSI Hetis 865GV-E questions

I'm looking at MSI Hetis 865GV-E for my mythtv box.

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16856101227

This will be a front and back end, stand alone. I might turn it into a
front end later and build a bigger backend. But for now, this is it.

I have a haup 150 card, and just got a seagate barracuda 200gig drive
and a gforce MX 4000 card (i think that's what it was called, don't
have it here with me) card for x-mas

This processor seems to be on sale:

And I'll need memory
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820221141 seems
to be as good as anything.

So my open ended question is will all this work ok? Any thoughts? My
other question is about audio. The Hetis says it has 6ch audio, but it
just has the 3 audio jacks. This is probably a silly question, but how
does that work?

I've had good luck with MSI slim case machines over the years.
I have the Mega 865 (same basic MOBO) as my master FE/BE
and an earlier MSI Celeron as a slave back end and both are reliable.

Its good you got the 150 card because the 350 does not fit
in the MSI cases unless you rip the Floppy out (Floppy,,,bah humbug)
and move the HD over there. The 150 fits fine.

I would ask what you plan to do with the gforce MX 4000, which
as I understand it is an AGP card, but this machine lacks an
AGP slot (either that or the specs are incomplete).

For driving any normal monitor the on-board video is more than
satisfactory, so take that vid card back and get a faster processor.

Who knows, probably some engineers pipe dream.

There is an agp version, but i got the pci. I don't want to watch tv on my
computer, so I need the video out. Also, it was a gift, so I can't easily
take it back [and i've opened it :( ].

I notice lots of boards mention 6ch, so is this just bogus?

Thanks for the tips!

One can do 6 channel audio on three stereo "mini" jacks... Count 'em :)
