Any lightweight window managers that support ALT-TAB functionality?

Any lightweight window managers that support ALT-TAB functionality?

The nice thing about KDE is that I can launch mythfrontend from the
command line and then ALT-TAB back to it to watch error messages, etc.

Do any of the lightweight window managers have similar functionality?

The default WM in KnoppMyth works like that as well. I don't know
exactly what it is, but in ps it shows as x-window-manager. I don't
particularly like the look or functionality, but I hardly ever see it,
so it's not a big deal... :)

basically almost all window managers support the alt-tab, you just
need one that isn't attached at the hip to a desktop manager like KDE
(it's the desktop manager that makes it a heavyweight)

Ah yes, I recall reading that somewhere. My Myth box (all-in-one
front/backend) is a P3 1G w/256MB RAM, and it doesn't have any problems
running everything. The only thing I'd like to do is move the MySQL
server to another box, but I haven't been able get that working yet.

I don't know about alt-tab, but I (as well as a number of others)
have had good luck with 'ratpoison'. It works like the terminal-muxing
program 'screen' if you're familiar with that. A hotkey to tab between
windows.

The nice thing is that there are *no* window decorations and all
programs are started fullscreen.

As part of an effort to eke every last little bit of performance out of my
Athlon XP 1800 to see if I can persuade it to play back 1080i content[1], I
switched back to WindowMaker for its desktop. One of the reasons I'd
abandoned it in the past was alt-tab not bringing terminal windows to the
front, but I guess something recently changed, because now it works.

[1] I should probably just give up and put the spare XP 2600 I have in it, but
where's the fun in that?!? Still need to try my GeForce 6200 again, this time
with the 7127 driver... :-)

evilwm is a lightweight window manager that does ALT-TAB. It was
suggested by one of the myth HOWTOs and works great....
