Knoppmyth R5A12 Released..

Its not mentioned on the site, but if you go to the mirrors/downloads
the iso available is R5A12. http;//www.mysettopbox.tv

VERY nice... i'm no longer getting crashes on my frontend after a
quick update from R5A10.

Easiest Myth to get up and running by far IMHO

Can you updade the change log? From what I remember, it is
Debian Sid based. What version of the kernel are you using?
I need to have 2.6.10 to have good cx88 support.

Thanks,
Greg

Epia users should be very happy with this release!

>From the announcement at
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3775 it seems that the
main difference is that Knoppmyth now offers out the box support for
the Via Epia and Epia M. Also, the script that "attempts" to detect
the presences of a tuner card now works.

I have not had time to upgrade from R5V10 to R5V12 yet. I don't see
how the new version would make myth frontend crash less often. Do you
have any explaination?

That sounds very interesting. I just wonder how easy it is to install
the box on a disk where I already have some data (which obvisouly I
don't want to lose). Need to get a spare disk for a test try...

Cecil,

Thanks so much for the new releases! I just installed R5A12 on a
system and without too much work was able to get it working with newer
PVR-350's TVout. Much easier than on the old R4V5 kernel version. Very
simple distro, definitely no faster way to get a great pre-configured
mythtv system!
