Limited sound after ripping DVD

I'm a newbie to the Linux arena, and am currently running FC3 with
myth 0.16. I am also running the 741 kernel with ALSA.
While playing a DVD through MythTV everything seems to work fine, but
when I go to rip the DVD it only gets the background noises and does
not pick up any of the coversations in the Movie.
If anyone has any idea's please let me know.
