slow satelite guide, no irblaster yet

Hi,
currently, I dont have an irblaster, I'm using the guide from my
satelite STB through mythtv to change channels, but it is very slow,
3-5 seconds for every arrow up! Is there a way to speed this up?
Maybe I am missing a setting somewhere...

thanks,
Pb

There is always a buffer when watching TV, so that is why you see the
delay. AFAIK there is no way to disable the buffer, although this has
been brought up by a couple of people recently.

You might check if your STB has a serial port (that may look like a
small phone jack,) as if so it is much easier than using an IR blaster
(AFAIK, most directv recievers have them.)
