Weird - blank mythweb/tv/recorded

Hi
Suddenly I am not able to access this page, it comes back blank, serving:
<html><head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;
charset=ISO-8859-1"></head><body></body></html>
The other pages seem fine.
I've gone to toolbox and Optimized, repaired and done extended table
checks. Updated and cold rebooted. (Problem occurred prior to update.)
Running 0.23-fixes (26863) and the recordings can be seen and accessed
from a frontend. Odd. Can somewhere suggest what to do now?

Might not be on the right track, but I've seen similar error messages and
the solution was to do with permissions.

update to a current version of mythtv?

I seem to have a similar problem, running 0.24-fixes - but I get a
completely blank page.

In my case, the reason is pretty obvious, and not unexpected. I have
a huge number of recordings stored away (2687), and I get this in the
Apache2 error.log file:

[Thu Jan 19 13:20:25 2012] [error] [client 10.0.2.2] PHP Fatal error:
Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 76
bytes) in /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/modules/tv/recorded.php on line
148, referer: http://10.0.2.4/mythweb/

Is it possible you now have too many recordings also?

Those errors normally mean that one of your recording drives is not
mounted or has bad permissions.

I have 2 x 3 TB and 1 x 2 TB drives for recordings, less the system
partitions, so about 7.85 Tbytes is available for recordings. There
is 99 GiB of free space left, so around 7.75 TB of space is used for
the 2688 recordings, for an average of around 2.8 Gbytes per
recording.

memory_limit was set to -1, which should mean unlimited memory usage.

Not keen while things in question. As I understand it the server and
all the frontends need to be upgraded, and any issues sorted... Might
be an hours work, might be a whole weekend...

Shows GET 500 590 errors for the page concerned.
I deleted about 10 shows, if it was a number of shows limit exceeded
that should have fixed it.
The drives were not changed nor the permissions, the problem started
spontaneously. Disk Utility now shows a warning for 6 reallocated
sector count for the OS drive of 120G while the 3 2T drives appear
mounted and healthy.

my recordings.

That error is not in my log.

Also to the comment about a blank response, mine also appears blank
however saving the webpage allowed me to ascertain that HTML was still
served up and to open the saved file, which was what I posted. As it is
a valid HTML page with no content it appears blank.

Sorry, was looking in the access.log, in fact it is also in my error.log.

[Thu Jan 19 22:09:12 2012] [error] [client 127.0.1.1] PHP Fatal error:
Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 91

The different line (148 vs 142) may be due to different versions.

I tried increasing the allocated memory in php.ini as per some websites,
memory_limit=128 increased to 256.
No difference.

The translate.php code is:

/**
* Load a translation file into the global translation array
*
* @param string $path The path to the translation file
/**/
function load_translation() {
global $L;

// Already loaded?
if (is_array($L) && count($L)) <<<<<Line 142
return;
$L = array();

Hmmm Something to do with translations?

From http://www.elkin.de/pivot/archive.php?o=27&w=elkin-wide

"I ran into this problem: I tried to view the list of recordings and
nothing happened.

The error message from "tail /var/log/apache2/error.log" was the following,
[Mon Aug 23 11:53:09 2010] [error] [client 194.25.15.12] PHP Fatal
error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 82 bytes) in /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/modules/tv/recorded.

To increase the memory limit I used to edit php.ini, but it seams those
are only the global values. For mythbuntu you will find the file needing
editing here:

/etc/apache2/sites-available/mythweb.conf

Search for the term php_value memory_limit and change it to something
bigger."

I changed 64 to 1024M and ran

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Curiously that gets it going again, but now I have the last ?100 or so
recordings showing with B file sizes. Hmmm. Don't think I'm there yet.

Thanks for finding the mythweb.conf file. I changed to:

php_value memory_limit 256M

(it was 64M), then did "/etc/init.d/apachectl restart" from a root
login and I have it working properly again.

Interesting. For me I get:

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
* Restarting web server apache2
apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully
qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1 for ServerName
... waiting apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully
qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1 for ServerName

[ OK ]

Browsing on the server seems to find a cached file, however if I go to

http://127.0.1.1/mythweb/tv/recorded

I get less B's coming through and seem to get the up to date version.
