I have considered big PC displays but these (typically) do not do 50 Hz
modes. This is a show stopper for me.

The Pany Prof plasma display range do not support 50Hz & too expensive &
are not Pioneer inspired.
The Panasonic consumer V20 does/okay/is.

I have not found any PC displays that will sync 50Hz modes.

Most important, is the behaviour of the clocking/refresh rates of the
internal prescaler with changing input video modes & this not so easy to
determine from any datasheet.

Different displays - but if you do wish to multi head make sure you
use seperate xscreens to get the sync rates in-line otherwise you get
scan line issues due to Twinview with nvidia.

They do 50hz modes btw, and support chaining via VGA.

The problem is the product datasheet says vertical freq range 56-76 Hz
for analog (VGA implied).

On a Samsung UA40C6200 (with no default hostname) I get the following:

Not shown: 65532 closed ports
PORT STATE SERVICE
5601/tcp open unknown
52235/tcp open unknown
52396/tcp open unknown

What can one do with that information?

Re: FrontEnds Controlling Audio Mains Power [In reply to]

Actually just did a port scan using Network Tools and this time
confirmed ports 5601, 52235 and 52396 are all open. What does one do
from here?

Have you already poked around http://www.samygo.tv/ and the project on
SourceForge?
