tv_grab_nz-py - HDHomeRun and 0.21

I've been trying to figure out why I get some missing channel data following running this.

The problem channels are TV2, C4, Prime, Chinese and BaseFM. For some reason the 7 day data does not populate for these. I cannot
get the icons to these to display on the left of /mythweb/tv/list either.

This is on 0.21 using a HDHomerun tuner so there are two mono-rec tuners. (Does not run on 0.22 without compiling in a fix, so I
shifted the 500T to the 0.22 test box and that tunes ok but not figured out the EPG there either....)

When I run mythfilldatabase --manual I get two rounds of data, one for each tuner series, I called them H0 and H1. I note
/home/me/.mythtv/H0.xmltv and /home/me/.mythtv/H1.xmltv however they seem limited to turning on or off particular channels.

How should the second round (H1) be treated, just the same as the first (H0)?

Also I have some missing icons, instead of using references such as:

Choose a channel icon image (any path name) [http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/icons/parliament.jpg]

It seems any path is not so good, e.g.:

/home/mythtv/.mythtv/channels/Logo_3_1.jpg

does not seem to work

Is there a path to copy icons to use instead?

Is there a way to reset the relevant files and run the default again?

Is what I am doing wrong obvious to anyone? (In advance much obliged to you!)

OK Figured out some of it: Some of the icons src's seem to be missing from the XML. I assume these are determining the icons
displayed?
<icon src="http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/icons/george_fm.jpg" />
<icon src="http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/icons/concert_fm.jpg" />
<icon src="http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/icons/national_radio.jpg" />

3+1, Chinese (english 8 version) and baseFM are not in http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/icons/ that I can find, I can give you some images
for those Hads if you want.

That does not seem likely to explain the data deficiencies.

I think I've identified my issues relate to using a HDHomerun tuner on
0.22. You mention a fix is necessary to get HDHomerun to work. Has the
fix been committed to trunk yet? I'm running Myth 0.22 from JYA's
release repo for Ubuntu 9.04. Should I switch to the trunk repo?

I also figured out how to enable the debug symbols if that would help.

The fix is http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/7624 When it is accepted or fixed and committed is anyones guess.

I'd be interested.

Re: tv_grab_nz-py - HDHomeRun and 0.21 [In reply to]

Have made some progress. The issue may have been that there were triplicate lines of all the channels in /mythweb/settings under
"Channel Info" tab.

Deleting some of the channels that did not have xmltvid's and/or adding these in seems to have fixed the named src icons that are
now appearing.

Also seems callsigns for same channels in multiple tuner configs need same data otherwise two lines get generated.

Curiously when a channel was not entered correctly the now/next EIT data still came through.

LiveTV still has some issues....

Thanks. I found it too and saw that you had raised the ticket to start
with. I've added myself to the ticket. I'm guessing the only way to
fix this is to either compile myth myself or convince Jean to add the
patch to his repo (probably unlikely).

I've added the debug packages. I'm guessing that now I get a more
detailed log output? Or do I need to run something differently from the
command line?

If by debug packages you mean packages that have been compiled with the
--compile-type=debug flag then see
http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-22.html#ss22.2 for details of what
you can do.

I've posted backtrace report on the bug report in the mythtv trac.
Hopefully this helps fix the problem as I don't really want to revert back
to 0.21.

You seem to have two video sources, one named H0 and one named H1.
Why? Each tuner will be tuned to the same channels won't it? You only
need one. (I have two sat tuners, both are set to the same video
source, which I named Freeview (cos its more descriptive than H0) :-)

Thanks indeed for the tip Nick.

Would one have each for DVB-S and DVB-T on the same box? (When I get around to it!)

I am not sure, the lineups are slightly different.

If the lineups are different then they should have different video sources.
Though if there a just a couple of extra channels you never use then you
could get away with one video source for both.
