Problems adding JYA's repos with 9.10

Ok I know from JYA's site that there is a process to adding his repos
under karmic. I just can't seam to get it to work....

Fresh install of mythbuntu 9.10 on a AMD X2 with a Nvidia GTS250

I select Open source as the video driver.

Then add JYA's repo before doing anything else

do an apt-get update and then apt get the nvidia-185 drivers etc as
per JYA's instructions

Yet nvidia-185-libvdpau is already loaded and so when I go to add
Libvdpau1 is get the can't overwrite error etc etc.

Thoughts, telling me I'm a idiot and forgot such and such......?

Guy

I had the same problem yesterday, despite my best attempts to follow the
karmic-specific instructions. In the end I gave up and went back to the
Mythbuntu versions.

I was hoping that JYA's version would have the skiploopfilter checkbox -
apart from missing that, I have been getting on pretty well with the
standard 9.10 packages.

I tried this yesterday, on a clean install of 9.10. When I enabled your
repository I was not offered any upgrades of the nvidia 185 packages.

I had selected the nvidia driver, and had probably run an update against
the default mythbuntu repos first, so may have been starting from the
wrong place...

Re: Problems adding JYA's repos with 9.10 [In reply to]

Had another go tonight and got it to work with some "tweaks"

This time did a fresh install of mythbuntu 9.10. made sure to get it
to use open source video driver. After it rebooted and came up I went
into synaptic. nviida-glx-185 is already installed urrrhhhh
Ok fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 and nvidia-glx-185 is NOT installed by
default mmmm. Added JYA's repo, reloaded apt and selected nvidia-185-
glx etc and applyed. it started downloading but from the ubuntu
stores. Canceled it and then slected the origin tab (bottom left in
synaptic) and selected JYAs restriced repo and then the 185 drivers.
This time it forced it to download from there and all is sweet :D

Hope it helps
