Time for a USB DVB-T tuner refresh!!

The recent discussion on Nova 500 cards has me thinking about HD again.
I've no PCI slots left in the backend so I'm looking for cheap USB sticks
as I've got plenty of USB holes left:-)

I've got a good UHF signal (I can see the Sugar Loaf from an upstairs
window) just outside Christchurch so I don't expect any issues with
splitters.

Any recommendations or sticks to avoid?

Pinnacle PCTV nanoStick works fine.

The Asus MyCinema U3100 is much cheaper and works well too.

Support for the Hauppauge HVR-900 (hybrid DVB-T/analogue) is broken at
the moment - early versions work, but the DVB-T tuner does not with my
later version. It did work a few months ago, but there seems to have
been a regression in recent kernels.

I've had good luck with a Nova-TD stick.

Is that the dual tuner one? Or the single tuner?

The Nova-TD stick is the dual tuner.

Just checking because the single one is similar in name. I've also got
one of those (ie the Nova-TD stick) and I find that when it is recording
two channels it ends up ruining one of the recordings (so I've missed
out on the new Top Gear twice now). Have you had any problems?

The dual one.

I havn't had any problems with it. Admittedly it's in my parents box, but
they do record stuff.
