SVN Myth trunk vs JYA

Questions building MythTV 0.22 trunk from source:

Using Myth with DVB-T only.
How much functionality do you lose using SVN 0.22 trunk v.s. Mr. JYA
repositories ?
Does the nvidia vdpau code take a backwards step with trunk ?

How difficult is the process of compiling MythTV from source ?
I would like to try to apply the fix as submitted by Mr. S.Ellis.

Thanks,
Brett.

You should start a new thread when asking a question rather than hitting
reply to another post and changing the subject. That is known as thread
hijacking.

SVN trunk is no longer 0.22, it's 0.23 development. If you want 0.22
then you want the 0.22-fixes branch.

There's not a lot of point using JYA's repository over the standard
Ubuntu 9.10 repositories. I believe the only difference is backported
digital audio enhancements.

VDPAU works fine with 0.22.

There's more to that.

Starting with the ability to use any nvidia drivers you want , and not
just 185.18.36 which are very buggy with vdpau
There is also extra backports from trunk in VDPAU (studio level RGB
support etc...) and HDTV colorspace support.

It kind of work fine. There were less issues with 0.21 with the VDPAU
support IMHO. There is currently a redrawing issue, often when using
VDPAU you would get no display at all ; you have to quit and restart
playback.

Sorry, working off outdated info.

Seems to work fine here, we've been using it on the main frontend (which
gets a lot of use) for the last couple weeks with no issues at all. I
did have to increase the buffers to get some h264 content to stop
blocking.

I've not seen this at all. Must be lucky.
