epg on pvr.geek.nz borked?

Hi there

I've just noticed our EPG has been broken since Nov 11 - which really
means it broke Nov 5 (7 days earlier).

/epg/listings.xml.gz is now an up-to-date but empty file

There are other freeview/sky xml files there, but listings-all.xml.gz
for example doesn't seem to be liked by my SD-only system?

Have I missed some change, or is this an actual outage?

Thanks

Jason

I've figured out that all the xmltvid's are different: eg my system has
1031.dvb.guide for TV1 whereas the listings-all.xml has tv1.freeviewnz.tv

Can I just "sed 's/tv1.freeviewnz.tv/1031.dvb.guide/g'" and carry on?
Will that break anything?

Thanks

Apparently the answer is: "yes". I just replaced the strings with the
old ones and mythfilldatabase seems happy again.

Sorry to burden y'all with my Q&A - hopefully it will at least be useful
to someone else :-)

Jason

Hi Jason,

That's my fault. The box that does the epgsnoop runs was changed and I
forgot about the old format listings file.

I'll have a look at it later today hopefully but in the mean time as you
discovered the newer files are all still working fine.

Everyone should consider upgrading to using those files anyway as they
offer better (more consistent, fuller) data and handle daylight savings
changes properly.

To use the new files all you will need to do is change the XMLTVID in
your mythtv database from the old format e.g. '1031.dvb.guide' to the
new format e.g. 'tv1.sky.co.nz/tv1.freeviewnz.tv'.

Cheers,

hads

Jason,
I, for one, found your epg problems interesting & helpful & not a burden;
far from it..
Did not even know this epg site was still active.
Call me stupid but I have been trying to find out what valid xmltvids look
like for ages.

Thanks
Brett.
