LATM in trunk!

W00t!

The mythtv devs have seen the light and included my patch in the trunk of
mythtv. So now the only patch I use against trunk is JYA's 5900 audio patch.

Cheers,
Paul Kendall

Just to catch the rest of us up.

What are the outstanding bits of the puzzle stopping this new release
'just working' for FreeviewHD?

Nothing as far as I can tell.

I do, however, use the patch from ticket 5900 which upsamples audio to 48khz
so I can just use audio over HDMI.

Cheers,
Paul

Cool - NOW I'm excited.
Given that I've owned a Nova-T for a year now, it would be good to
actually be able to use it.

Since the ffmpeg upgrade, something got broken with VDPAU and some of
your H264 channel (the 720p ones) play at twice the speed...

I have no clue why ...

So if you move to trunk now, while stable, if you need VDPAU it may be an issue.

I've created packages for those (updated daily) and wrote a short note
on how to upgrade ; it's not that easy yet.
http://www.avenard.org/media/Ubuntu_Repository/Entries/2009/8/24_Trunk___MythTV.html

If using the adjust capabilities (that I commited yesterday), you may
have an issue when playback starts that mythtv shows garbage. It's
being worked on (it's a Qt4 issue)

Re: LATM in trunk! [In reply to]

Last time I tried to install a mythbuntu mythtv when adding Pauls
repositories, I couldn't get access to the url, whereas JYA's repositories
did work. I know we are talking about a trunk install rather than packages,
so is Pauls setup going to become available at some stage to those other
than bleeding edge testers?
Cheers

I'm not sure what you mean here...

Paul setup is from my understanding a straight trunk checkout with an
extra AC3 upmixer patch (Mythtv ticket #5900).
I don't think he has created ubuntu packages in quite a while...

I'm currently updating that patch, but it won't make it in mythtv
trunk on time for 0.22.

I will be adding the patch on my trunk repositories however, as I do
use the AC3 upmixer and I enjoy its capabilities.

And no, we're talking about packages here ... it's all pre-compiled
and packaged for you, including the new themes

Correct. And I don't think I need to anymore either :-)

Oh, well, never mind!

Awesome. So I won't need to do a local build either then.

Perhaps now I can concentrate on getting LATM into ffmpeg proper.
And once that's done, I'll look at some of the myth features on the list,
And then...

Cheers,
Paul

I've updated the patches to compile with the newer trunk, still using
the old jya15 one ; will start working on the newer version now.

It's building now ; should be available within 1 hour.
