Smarter detection of programmes

Programmes running overtime is really annoying me - there must be a
smarter way.

Do you think it'd be possible to leverage the great work already done
with advertisement detection, to get myth to "watch" for the end of a
programme? An ideal outcome would be where myth auto-extended the
recording (for up to 10 minutes), if it thought the programme was
running over-time?

Yeah its especially annoying late at night when they seem less concerned
about keeping scheduling on time.

I set my system to record 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after each
recording to try and avoid missing any part of the show. It works most
times but it would be nice if it could detect the end/beginning as
you've suggested.

I find they are almost NEVER running early so set it for 1 minute before and
anything up to 10 minutes after (but at prime time when they seem to run
close to time, only 2 or 3 minutes).

I agree. I normally set 5min early and 15 min late.

Routinely I have to FF 10-12 mins from the start of a recording to get the beginning of the show.

Speaking of advert breaks, has anyone else noticed that the nice 3:59 minute breaks are now being changed to anything from 2 min, 3:30 to 4:00.
Do you think they might be trying to fool people who just have a 4min FF programmed on the remote?
