avidemux2 and sound syncing

Hello

I normally use avidemux2 to edit mpeg files but have an issue with the sound
going out of sync with the video. A google search shows that this is not
uncommon. So I was wondering - what do other people use to edit mpeg files?
Or is there a simple way to keep the video and audio in sync with avidemux?

Thanks

Depends on the source of the video

1. IVTV captures might be off by 80-100 ms on the myPVR build when editing
with avidemux

2. If DVB TS streams then you need to use ProjectX to sort out the Audio sync

I use avidemux 2.x on IVTV captures quite a lot.

I agree, I both edit and demux with projectx, then encode with avidemux.

I saw a script on the man mythtv list recently which took a cutlist
generated by mythtv's editing system and then demux the file with
projectx and mux it together again to create a well synced ad free
file.

What I often do is edit out the adverts using MythTV and then re-render
using the lossless MPEG-2 transcoder. That will then produce an in sync
PS file.

How do you do that? MythArchive doesn't allow me to do any editing to the
file - just archive it to DVD. Or am I missing something really obvious?

Try hitting E for Edit Cutlist when viewing a recording.

When your cutlist is correct, press X while viewing to transcode and cut
out all the blanked out bits.

Nope, this definitely doesn't work on my system. Now to try and figure out
why.
