Is there perhaps some quick way we can re-enable this
for output classes that support it?

On MacOS, I repaired embedded playback a few months ago;
[25291],[25292],[25324],[25326] in trunk,
and [25294] in fixes,
though from memory that is non-OpenGL only

Program Finder vs. Program Guide-- No theme has ever used embedded
video in the program finder, and thus it being enabled or disabled is
sort of moot (my understanding is that the code didn't survive the
MythUI port). TTBOMK Embedded video + Program Guide is still
functional and supported.

I'm not sure what prompted Daniel to disable this but here at least it
was broken this time yesterday - but should now be fixed again
following r26421.

I would however like to see some consistency of approach to the
different UI screens that can be popped up during playback.

At the moment livetv will continue to play embedded in the program
guide but will pause for the Program Finder, Schedule Editor and
Schedule Viewer. For recordings and videos, we have the setting to
allow playback to continue in the background when in the program guide
but the other three will still pause - unless you bring up the Program
Finder from the program guide, in which case video will continue to
play if enabled.

regards

Mark

Please confirm you are talking about the Program Finder
and not the Program Guide. AFAIK none of the themes currently
support embedded playback on the Program Finder screen.

Do'h. Thank for the clarification.

Heck, this user has never _used_ the program finder like that.
Looking up keys.txt, it says F6. My default keybindings say #.
No wonder it doesn't work - I don't have either of those on
my remote :-)

Ah, thanks for noticing. It's actually #, now, since the MHEG buttons
stole F6, so I'll update docs. I've been trying to improve keys.txt and
the HOWTO's Keyboard Shortcuts, but haven't gone through all the keys, yet.
