I don't have a Dish receiver, and I do not have the problem described
in http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/7698. Audio sync with my Directv
receiver has not been a problem in over a year.
I seem to remember someone mentioning that A/V sync issues can be
caused by the frontend computer not being fast enough to keep up with
the video decoding. Are you using VDPAU? If not, how fast is your
frontend computer?
