i am working on a server side solution
however it creates a dependency on another perl module
i was looking around and found the Imager module
it seems to be lightweight and does what we need
is there another module which should be used in preference
i will post the patch when i get it working
the wrinkle is to get it working with the HTTP_RANGE stuff
