[mythtv-commits] Ticket #6922: Prebuffering pauses with VDPAU on HD channels

Hello! I have a GF 8200 Mainboard with a Athlon X2 5050e cpu and 4 GB memory.
I have to set cpufreq to minimum 1800mhz to have a smooth video playback.
I had the problem with the studdering 720p channels on Astra (Das Erste HD,
ZDF HD, arte HD).
Somebody posted a patch in Ticket #7481 witch solved the problem for me.
Please have a look there.

Stefan

I have tested that patch on my ION system, unfortunately there is no
difference in playback of these channels. The stuttering still only occurs
with LiveTV, recorded content is fine (even when the recording is still in
progress).

For me, there is no difference in livetv and recorded. Both stuttering badly without the patch. Does the stuttering disappear when you pause the playback for some seconds and let mythtv record some seconds in advance?

Seems like the patch really fixes playback of german 720p channels.
Anixe HD (1080i) also works, stuttering remains on Discovery HD, Nat
Geo HD, Classica HD and BBC HD.
The stuttering also goes away if I pause the playback and unpause it
after a few seconds.
