The *buntu repositories should include a debug package for the MythTV
packages, though getting it may involve adding new repos or similar.
You'll need to find and install the debug package.

Unfortunately, no *buntu user has taken the time to fill out details at

http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Debugging#Debugging_with_Ubuntu_packages

so it will likely involve interpreting the information at the link I
gave in that section and applying the information to MythTV. Once you
do that, please (for the next *buntu user to come this way) fill in the
details of how to install the debug packages for MythTV.

Thanks,
Mike

AFAIK, ubuntu doesn't provide debugging packages for mythtv.
It's on their todo list.

The mythtv 0.22-fixes in my repo (www.avenard.org/media) are compiled
with debugging...

There's ddebs here;

http://ddebs.ubuntu.com/pool/multiverse/m/mythtv/

The guys in #ubuntu-mythtv should be able to assist in using them.
