Perhaps we can figure out what we had in common, if that helps > to find > this culprit. I'm running up-to-date Mythbuntu 9.04, using JYA's trunk repository. Latest nvidia 190 series drivers (190.42? -- it was a little worse with the 185.36 series drivers), again from JYA's repository. A rebuild with compile-type=profile and DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip will get the symbols. I had forgotten that I wasn't rolling my own builds anymore. I'm beginning to wonder whether its a memory leak issue. I notice that with the fanart, etc. mythfrontend grows to over 600MB resident quite quickly. I'm running on a 2GB ion with no swap -- so it could be related to that. Though I always die exiting the PBB or a recording and the dump is in a destructor -- which should be releasing memory.
