I just tried audioencoding-trunk-jya15.patch and am pleased that it
seems to fix http://cvs.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/5126.

Unfortunately, I don't see how to disable the upmix from stereo to
DD5.1 for my music. Having stereo upmixed to DD5.1 is fine for TV
shows, but I don't want my music messed with. Am I missing a setting
somewhere?

Thanks,

John

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

Re: [mythtv-commits] Ticket #5900: AO: Generalise upmix and AC-3 encoding [In reply to]

In testing this patch, I have discovered that timestretch video
playback is *much* jerkier with it, than without it. However, a
mythfrontend log with "-v audio, playback" does not reveal anything
obviously different.

I have OpenGL vsync turned on.
Max Audio Channels: 5.1
Upmix: Passive
Enable AC3 to SPDIF passthrough: checked
Enable DTS to SPDIF passthrough: checked
AC3 audio upmixer: checked
Sample Rate Conversion: Disabled

I have tried turning OpenGL vsync off, but it did not help.

Any suggestions for some other log levels which may indicate the
problem?

Thanks,

John
