Hi and thanks for pointing me into the right direction. I downloaded the source package and modified the build settings like this: 63c63,64 < CONFIGURE_OPTS += --cpu=i686 --enable-mmx --enable-xvmc --enable-xvmc-vld --enable-xvmc-pro --enable-glx-procaddrarb --- > CONFIGURE_OPTS += --cpu=i686 --enable-mmx --enable-xvmc --enable-xvmc-vld --enable-xvmc-pro > # --enable-glx-procaddrarb 91c92 < --enable-opengl-vsync --with-bindings=perl --enable-opengl-video \ --- > --with-bindings=perl \ Rebuild the package, installed it and now watching or playback dont crash anymore. It might be linked to having an ATI Radeon card and some OpenGL issues though I don't even have OpenGL in use anywhere. Hope this helps someone in the future.
