libdvdread errors watching home DVD

I'm running the latest 0.21-fixes from ATRPMS and yesterday when I built
a home movie DVD (via Adobe Elements Premiere)
I got a stop/start or frame dropping then in the frontend log I see
tonnes of the following message

*** libdvdread: CHECK_VALUE failed in nav_read.c:356 ***
*** for dsi->dsi_gi.zero1 == 0 ***

Is this a bug introduced in last round of fixes as I played a similar
disc a few weeks ago before I downloaded the current F8 kernel and
MythTV patches..

PS should I create a Trac ticket for this if nobody can isolate this to O/S

Re: libdvdread errors watching home DVD [In reply to]

Hi,

I built a myth box for my Dad ... and he's had a number of DVDs that
just lock up myth spewing thousands of these log entries. I think some
of the DVDs he had problems with were either home made or custom (e.g. a
DVD of his holiday produced by the tour company).

I've had pretty good success with the myth DVD player, but he's lost
faith with it. He doesn't understand why a $50 DVD player works, but
mythtv doesn't. :(

I had a look at the code in that area, but it was way over my head. If
you or anyone else has any ideas I'd like to know too.

Regards,
Matt

Note I have created a trac ticket so this can hopefully resolve this issue..
I'm pretty sure this was working when I tried this a month ago but I have updated F8
kernel and Mythtv fixes since then.
