saa6752hs

Hi
is this possible to use saa6752hs chip with mythtv ?

dmesg :
saa6752hs 0-0020: saa6752hs: chip found @ 0x40
saa7134[0]: registered device video1 [v4l2]
saa7134[0]: registered device vbi1
saa7134[0]: registered device radio1
saa7134 ALSA driver for DMA sound loaded
saa7134[0]/alsa: saa7134[0] at 0xfdeffc00 irq 17 registered as card 1
saa7134[0]: registered device video0 [mpeg]

card registers 2 video devices :
video1 [v4l2] - analog and control, tuning etc
video0 [mpeg] - only mpeg2 stream - audio & video - without v4l controls

using this mpeg video device is really simple -
cat /dev/video0 >test.mpg records mpeg2 stream,
mplayer /dev/video0 plays stream

maybe additional option in cards configuration (option for
saa7134/saa6752hs - when option is enabled we can define additional
video device only for a/v stream [mpeg] - but control via v4l2 interface)

stream is encoded directly in saa6752hs without performance impact etc,
parameters can be controlled (bitrate, resolution etc), video looks
better than rtjpeg/mpeg4 and compression is more effective.

any ideas ? can it be done ?

Regards
Marek K.

Re: saa6752hs [In reply to]

This is a question for the -users list, not the -devs list.
