Is there ANY possibility of adding a column to capturecard for a volume
level, to allow per card volume settings? It seems this would be the
logical place for it, and since you are in there anyway... :)

Adding the column would be easy. But the code is quite different
from the picture attribute code. In particular, I think V4L and
IVTV recorders would need different code. Which drivers are giving
you level problems?

I am using ivtv cards, and of the 4, 2 PVR-250's have a good volume
level by default, the 1 PVR-150 is a LOT lower than the others, and I
have an Avermedia M179 that is louder than the others. I don't think the
audio level can be changed on the M179, but the 150 can, so I've been
using a patch posted to one of the lists to disable the Myth audio
adjustment, and manually turn up the 150 so it's about the same as the
250's. Having a way of setting the level per card would be a very nice
feature, and I realize that the coding involved is probably not trivial,
but having the column in the db at least would allow someone who is
motivated to work on it without having to futher change the db schema.
Making it take up to 65535 would probably be easiest, but for the user
making it a percent would be easier...

Just a thought.

Thanks
Tom
