i have changed a lot in the database stuff, see on ticket
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/1699
the frontend get's faster and the new style is used from the new web part.
maybe somone can decide if this get's checked in or not.
also i have made changes to the mfd and noone respods to my ticket

I don't think there is a full time maintainer right now. Ask your
question though because a few people here will be able to answer you. I
have some understanding of the playback stuff, but little knowhow on the
GUI side for example
