More general multimedia-features

Hi,
Just came across the mythtv project and I must say: it looks neat-o. I plan
to download it and test it tonight.
Anyway, I was wondering, are there plans for more general multimedia
features, such as DVD/divX playback, photoCD-viewer, stuff like that?
