I'd like to enthusiastically second the motion on this ticket and the
further patch that Paul describes. It fills a definite need for people
with combined FE/BE setups who'd like to know why their myth box is up
even though they aren't watching anything. I'm currently doing
something similar with a shell script that watches the log and uses the
xml server but an executable that's part and parcel of myth would be
ever so much better. Long overdue.
